Ride for Christ ‘04: October 27th through 29th, 2004
For the first time ever we are asking alumni to join us on our annual bike ride from Athens to Jacksonville to help us raise money for the state Collegiate Missions Fund!

We’ll be riding October 27th through 29th. Get all of the details about the ride on our website. There are several ways you can be involved:

• 4 options for riding your bike with the group to Jacksonville:
•Start with the group on Wednesday, 10 am (ride 280 miles)
• Meet the group in Sandersville, Ga. Wednesday evening (ride 200 miles)
• Meet the group in Blackshear, Ga. Thursday evening (ride 65 miles)
• One other option is to ride with the group for one or two portions only, not all three days into Jacksonville.

•If you don’t want to ride, but would like to come with us drive one of our support vehicles! We always need drivers (who don’t mind driving 10-15 miles an hour along Highway 15 through Georgia and into Florida).

•Assist us in getting corporate sponsors. With all of the alumni working in the business world surely there are folks who would love to sponsor our ride, getting their name and or logo on our rider’s shirt (worn each day of the ride).

•Purchase this year’s t-shirt, only $15.00 (includes shipping, or pick one up at the BSU for $12.00). You can see the design on the website. Show your support as you wear it with pride!

Marriage Enrichment Weekend ‘05: January 14-16, 05’
are you newly married or want to make a good marriage better? Dr. Love, or Franklin Scott, and I are planning a weekend just for couples to be held in Athens, January 14-16.

We believe marriage is the most sacred of human bonds and we want to help make good marriages even better! Go ahead and put the event on your calendar. We are still working on the details. The current plans are to reserve a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn (as cheaply, but romantically as possible).

We’ll have a fellowship event on Friday night, with some introductory words from FS and NB. Saturday will have a late morning brunch at the BSU followed by a session lasting until about 1:00. We’ll give you the afternoon off to explore the romantic spots around Athens. That evening we’ll have a nice dinner (or desert) followed by another session of enrichment. We’ll end before too late and gather again for Breakfast on Sunday morning for a concluding worship time together. We’ll end by about 10:30 so you can attend your favorite Athens church or have a leisurely trip home.

We are trying to keep the total cost under $200.00 for the weekend (not including meals on your own). More info will be emailed as soon as the details come together!
